Thanks for stopping by,
My daughter took pity on me and is allowing me to use her laptop while she sleeps. It is midterms, so if she's awake, the computer is in her hands.
The weather is springy and I am looking forward to the farmer's market. Can't wait to do some summertime cooking. I am dreaming about fresh tomatoes, corn on the cob, watermelon ...
It has been a long winter - and Dell has certainly contributed to my winter of discontent.
Take care -
Would love to hear what you are cooking!

Always glad to see you here ♥
My cooking is pretty much the usual lately - keeping it simple. Last night I threw together an impromptu mid-week dinner for 4 teenagers, my husband and I and it was quickly devoured and thoroughly enjoyed. I made our favorite grilled chicken sandwiches, which is a Martha Stewart Living recipe:

I pray for the safe delivery of your computer!!! Maybe next time you should buy a Mac - sorry....
I have made two totally different but totally yummy meals in the past week; one, a rolled stuffed flank steak, came from a magazine called Clean Eating. I bought a 2lb piece of steak and we ate it for lunch, dinner and snack for a week!
The other was an Asian Chopped Salad, compliments of Lynn Rosetto Casper's Weeknight Kitchen email. If you don't know Lynn, check out your local public radio station. Her show, The Splendid Table, is a highlight of my week!
Both foodie treasures indeed - enjoy!
Steve -
Will definitely try that scone! Looks great!
Linda -
Your family dinners with your daughter and her friend sound so fun! You are building some great memories there!
Lisa -
I love Lynn Rosetto Casper! But somehow missed her Asian Chopped Salad. Must look for that!
- So glad you all stopped by. It is always fun to hear what delicious goodies you are enjoying. It gives me new ideas for things to try myself. I've been on a run of every day, ordinary meals lately, and keeping my fingers crossed that my new laptop arrives soon. Thanks for being there!
Michelle
Hi Michelle, I've been sick, so my food of choice has been soup. For a really treat, I'd have an orange and maybe a little yogurt.... Don't get me wrong, I love soup but not for 7days. I got a taste for something spicy now, like Mexican.
When you getting your laptop? I would be lost too. When the power sometimes goes out here for a couple of hours I miss my computer. I'm crossing my fingers for you!
We miss you!
Beans, lots and lots of beans. And lots of grains. Not that we're hankering for them, but we're hankering to ease the congestion of pantry space. We're trying to scale down so we can put the house on the market and buy one in which to accumulate too much food all over again (and too many books and too much of a lot more stuff...)
But I'm making up all sort of spice blends and curry bases with which to cook those beans, so there's some great flavor exploration going on, too. Can't feel guilty about that.
Cheers! Carol
